The Midlakes Organization Mid-Lakes Management was formed in 1980 by 15 self-employed physicians to provide the non-clinical administrative services for their practices. Today it is an organization of over 130 non-physician employees serving the needs of providers in over 30 practices. Ownership is by both physicians and non-physicians. Governance is by a Board of Directors composed of individuals representing medical and non-medical professions.. Geographically, clients are located primarily within the Central and Western Finger Lakes Region of New York State. Internet communications technology currently in place allows for delivery of reimbursement (billing) services virtually anywhere. Mid-Lakes' 20 years of operation and history of profitability continue to provide stability in an otherwise rapidly changing, if not chaotic, healthcare environment. It has the capital to be a leader among sources of physician practice services.
